Sony Xperia XZ Premium first impressions: living up to its name with loaded specs

Almost a year and a half back, Japanese company Sony became the world’s first Smartphone manufacturer to offer a 4K display with the Xperia Z5 Premium (first impressions) showcased in IFA, Berlin. In IFA 2016, the brand launched a new flagship in the form of the Xperia XZ (review). At MWC this year, it seems that it has merged these two Smartphone’s to launch the Sony Xperia XZ Premium – the world’s first phone to offer a 4K HDR display. But that’s not the only ‘premium’ bit of the device. The phone is loaded in every aspect possible. Read our first impressions to find out more about it.

The Sony Xperia XZ Premium carries forward the design philosophy established by its predecessors. You get a rectangular slab with the display dominating the fascia, rounded aluminum frame, and minimal elements at the back. The power switch on the right also acts as a fingerprint reader, and you also get a dedicated shutter button on the Smartphone.

The Smartphone fits in hand well, although the weight seems to be on the higher side as it tips the scale at 195g. The phone is not really slim either with a thickness of 7.9mm. While the Sony Xperia XZ Premium nestles in the hand well, it’s quite slippery… and the reason for that is the glass back. In fact, the phone can actually act as a mirror because it’s so shiny and reflective – which looks good to eyes, but catches fingerprints and smudges quite easily.

The highlight of the Sony Xperia XZ Premium is of course its display. The 5.5-inch screen packs in an incredible resolution of 3,840 x 2,560 pixels, offering impressive sharpness. But unlike last time, Sony isn’t just focusing on just sharpness, it also promises good saturation and contrast levels with support for HDR video. Compatible content from apps like Amazon Prime Video would let users enjoy an immersive experience even on the go. Even if the content you are playing isn’t 4K, the X-Reality engine under the hood will upscale it to offer an enhanced output.

Of course, we still can’t tell a 2K display apart from a full HD panel, let alone a 4K resolution-toting screen. However, HDR does offer a lot of improvement, and the colors pop out on the display.
Compared to last year’s flagship from the brand’s stable, Sony is opting for top-of-the-line specs. The device is among the first ones to come with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, which offers four Kryo 280 cores clocked at 2.45GHz. The four low-power cores run at 1.9GHz. Coupled with 4 gigs of RAM, the phone should fly with any tasks thrown at it. For storage, you get 64GB of expandable memory on board.

Sony’s phones have been infamous for their heating issues, and the manufacturer might have been able to solve that issue for the Xperia XZ Premium. As per the teardown, Sony has kept the camera module separate from the CPU and GPU, three things that are responsible for heating up a device the most. There’s also a heat pipe which tries to cool down the smartphone real-time.

In terms of the cameras, the Sony Xperia XZ Premium features an unconventional resolution of 19-megapixels at the back. The primary snapper packs in everything you’d expect from a flagship – optical image stabilization, laser auto focus technology, and 4K video recording, among other things. However two of the most exciting things about the shooter is predictive capture and super slow motion video recording. The first option is enabled by default and is a godsend if you love capturing action shots. The Motion Eye camera on the Smartphone automatically detects motion and captures it even before you clicking on the shutter button. Thus it captures four images in quick succession to ensure that fast action isn’t missed, and you can choose the best image out of the lot or just save all of them. The Super slow motion video recording on the other hand, clicks an HD video at 960fps – slowing down even the fastest of actions. Though we only got a demo of these features on the XZ Premium’s sibling, the XZs (first impressions), they’d work the same on this device. The front 13MP camera seems capable of capturing nice selfies.

New Apple Iphone SE Launching with first impression in India

After months of speculations and reports, Apple has finally started assembling iPhones in India. The Wall Street Journal reports that Apple has completed a first trial run for the iPhone SE (review), and is finally assembling the handsets in partnership with Taiwanese contractor Wistron in the country.

The iPhone SE is no longer Apple's latest phone, that honor goes to the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. They might not be radical redesigns, but new features are plentiful. Both are water-resistant, have stereo speakers and a wider color gamut screen. You'll have to say bye to the headphone jack though, as it's been ditched.

Phones getting bigger and bigger, but the iPhone SE totally bucks the trend. This is a phone that's easy to use with one hand. Yes the the Samsung Galaxy S7, HTC 10 and iPhone 6S Plus are great handsets, but for many of us they’re simply too large.

How can a phone with a three year old design do it? Apple has given people a choice with the iPhone SE. The compact body is rare these days, but even though it's small it packs a mighty punch. This is a very powerful and capable phone. It can boast the same top-notch internals as the iPhone 6S, a snazzy pink (sorry, Rose Gold) hue and support for Apple Pay. Normally small phones are hamstrung, the iPhone SE isn’t.

PROS

Compact body
Great camera
Excellent performance
Solid battery life

CONS

Poor front-facing camera
Still 16GB starting storage

2MP Facetime front camera

IPHONE SE – DESIGN, SCREEN AND AUDIO

A surprising amount of people I speak to say they want a small phone that packs all the features of a full-fat flagship. Sony is the only manufacturer to have previously attempted anything like this, but even its Xperia Z5 Compact has a not-so-tiny 4.6-inch screen and it's quite thick. The iPhone SE is much smaller and much easier to handle.
Anyone who's used an iPhone 5 or iPhone 5S will feel at ease with the iPhone SE – it looks and feels almost identical, except now you can get it in a fetching rose-gold colour and its cut edges are matte rather than shiny chrome.

Xiaomi Redmi 4 review: the new frontrunner among budget smartphones

While using Smartphone’s First of all we have choose right mobile with budget rate searching lots of sites to find there right mobile in right price. Then we bought the mobile all features were adopted useful to us. That’s why mobile has became a part of our life in now a days Let us discuss new entry of Xiaomi Redmi 4 mobile features….

The Xiaomi Redmi 4 has finally been launched in India, and looking at it, I can’t help but marvel at the evolution of budget phones. It’s no surprise that the budget segment in India is the most lucrative for Smartphone makers, and Xiaomi’s wildly successful Redmi series is testament to that. With last year’s Redmi 3S becoming the highest online-selling Smartphone in India, the onus falls on the Redmi 4 to carry forward the baton. And after a couple of weeks with the phone, I think it’s more than up to the task.

Design and display: curves all around

The Xiaomi Redmi 4 piggybacks on some of its predecessor’s design elements, with a solid metal body that feels surprisingly well made. Most noticeably, Xiaomi has used curved 2.5D glass for the display, making for a much sleeker look than the Redmi 3S. The corners also appear more rounded, and the reforming of the loudspeaker from the back panel to the bottom edge gives it a sleeker look.
My black Redmi 4 review unit made a refreshing change from the usual gold, and I found the matte finish rear to be pretty resilient to scratches. The back panel is also where you’ll find the primary camera, LED flash and fingerprint sensor, which is located within easy reach of your index finger. Unlike the Redmi 3S and Redmi 3S Prime (review), where the former didn’t feature a fingerprint sensor, all units of the Redmi 4 are identical save for their RAM and storage capacities.

Cameras: surprisingly versatile

I found the Redmi 4 to be very versatile for a budget shooter, locking focus and capturing images in a jiffy. Daylight shots were impressive across the board, with natural colors and plenty of detail. Grain does tend to creep in when you shoot indoors and in low light, but results are surprisingly usable. The front camera can also manage a decent selfie – if you take it in good lighting.

Software: new MIUI, old Android

It’s unfortunate that the Redmi 4 still runs Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow at a time when even more affordable devices are launching with Nougat. However, Xiaomi has said there will be a beta ROM running Nougat available for Redmi 4 users when the device goes on sale.

Performance: goes the distance

The Redmi 4 is powered by the capable Snapdragon 435 SoC, an octa-core SoC clocked at 1.4GHz. Our unit came with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage (around 24GB available out of the box). The microSD card slot supports expansion up to 128GB. The other configurations include 2GB + 16GB and 4GB + 64GB. In my opinion, the 3GB + 32GB model hits the sweet spot, and should cater to the needs of most budget phone users.

User's  rating: 4 / 5

Pros:
Sleek, premium design
Excellent battery life
Decent performance

Cons:
Proximity sensor acts up
Still runs Marshmallow
Bundled charger doesn’t support fast charging
